RECREATION LEADER 2
MUST HAVE A HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR EQUIVALENT AT TIME OF HIRE
Under general direction of the Assistant Site Supervisor or Site Supervisor I, assists with a variety of recreation activities at a childcare center. Performs a variety of manual, clerical, and leadership tasks. Provides mentorship and support to Recreation Leader I. Supervises and engages children, completes specific tasks as assigned and communicates positively with the children and families.

Schedule: Must be able to work a minimum of 4 hours/day Monday through Friday
Classified Salary : $19.29 to $29.93 per hour (Based on Experience)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Includes the following; other duties may be assigned.

- Assists staff with recreation activities
- Assists with the organization of games and maintains discipline at indoor and outdoor play
areas
- Assists in conducting special recreation activities such as arts and crafts, dancing and drama
- Assists a Site Supervisor, Assistant Site Supervisor, and/or Senior Recreation Leader in
conducting and supervising daycare or day camp activities
- May act as a chaperone for field trips or other activities needing supervision.
- Assists in the maintenance of daily attendance records
- Observes necessary precautions to secure the safety of recreation participants and spectators
and renders routine first aid in case of minor injury
- Responsible for planning and implementing Recreation Activities
- Maintains professional attitude, communication and appearance
- Demonstrates age appropriate behavior and language
- Moves and sets up equipment
- Performs light-cleaning including; vacuuming, sweeping, wiping counters/tables, etc.
- Must attend all mandatory trainings as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Recreation Leader 2 does not have supervisory responsibilities over employees; however, it is expected that they assist in the training and mentoring of the Recreation Leader 1. The Recreation Leader 2 is responsible for supervising the participants/customers in their programs.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma / GED required. One year of related childcare experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read, write and comprehend instructions and memos. Ability to write short correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to children, parents and community members and other employees of the organization.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Must have own transportation. CPR/First Aid certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire. All employees must complete mandatory trainings within 30 days of hire.
Conditions of Employment
Upon offer of a position, LGS Recreation staff must obtain fingerprint and TB clearances. Any mandatory trainings required for the position must be completed within 30 days of employment.
Must have own transportation
Computer Skills
Basic computer skills are required as employees may assist children with online instruction.

- The noise level in the work environment is usually a moderate to loud noise level.
- The noise level in the clubhouse environments may be frequently noisy with very dynamic and rapid movement.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions. Seasonal and year round programs may expose the individual to natural weather conditions, such as extreme sun, cold, rain and other conditions that may not be predictable.
